Barbara Ann Folsom

Barbara Ann Folsom (Jackson) 84, died peacefully on Monday August 29, 2022. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Born August 7, 1938 in Lansing Michigan to Clifford Lee Jackson and Mary Esperance Reed Jackson, Barb spent much of her youth living in Royal Oak and weekending at the cottage on the Platte River up north. Barb was a graduate of Dondero High School in Royal Oak, MI. She studied at Cleary College in Ann Arbor and earned her instrument rated pilot’s license while married to William Mortimer, father of Michael and Lee. She later moved to Tyler, TX after marrying Charles Folsom. She had many jobs including working at Walker Wire & Steel, Dillard’s Dept Store, Texas Food Bank, and many volunteer opportunities as well.

Barb was a very social person who always had a smile to share. She loved playing cards and games, singing, cooking and hostessing events at home and at church. Her church and church family meant so much to her and she held many roles including Women’s Fellowship Leader, Choir member and Church Elder. When not with friends or family, you could find Barb reading, sewing or doing a crossword puzzle.
She is survived by her children Michael Mortimer, Lee Maloney (John), Eric Folsom (Tammy), Shawn Rockwood (Mark), Dawn Folsom (Ed), Kurt Folsom (Brenda), Chuck Jaynes (Carol), Kim Frego (Artie), Todd Folsom (Joyce), 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Charles Folsom and brother Tom Jackson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 1st, 2022 at 11:00am at the Congregational Church of Birmingham, United Church of Christ. 1000 Cranbrook Rd Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304.
