Cheryl Ann Baynham

Our beloved Cheryl Ann Baynham was born January 17, 1945 to the late Tracy Franklin Youngblood and the late Doris Eileen (Mitchell) Jones; both await their daughter with open arms.
Cheryl was the eldest of three siblings, and later three step-siblings. She attended Inkster public schools, in the district formerly called Dearborn Heights.
Cheryl was christened as an infant. She was a member of St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, where she made her confirmation vows at the age of eleven. Cheryl sang in both the church choir, and her school glee clubs.
At seventeen, Cheryl married her high school sweetheart, Calvin McKinney. They had two children, Tonya Michelle, and Calvin Robert.
In her early 20’s, Cheryl worked at several department stores, in downtown Detroit, as an elevator operator (yes back in the day, elevators weren’t automated) namely, J.L Hudson’s, B. Siegel’s, and lastly, Grinnell Brother’s. She was married to George Baynham during that time.
Around 1969, Cheryl got hired at Chrysler Stamping Plant. When her marriage with George ended, she met, and fell in love with William (Bill) Webb. They had one child, Toya Monique.
After retiring from Chrysler in June, 2002, Cheryl worked at the Avenue (women’s clothing store) until the store closed.
Besides, being very proud of her loving family, Cheryl was very proud of her work history. Cheryl loved to read, and had hundreds of novels. She was an excellent cook, and was a serious bid whist and spades player. She loved traveling with her family, and dining out with family and friends. Cheryl loved the cider mill. She loved growing plants. For every holiday, from Easter to Christmas, Chery loved decorating her apartment with pride and joy.
As her health began to fail, she loved connecting with family and friends on Facebook. She particularly loved talking with her cousin Jadine Caldwell. Their laughter would take away her pain. Cheryl remained an independent woman, who did things her way, until she became critically ill.
On November 30, 2022 at 8:46 P.M. Cheryl made her final transition from this life to the next.
