Sending you love and peace at this trying time. Joan was a nice lady, may she rest in peace.

  2. What a fun-loving lady she was. It was my privilege to meet Joan when I married her cousin, Bob Rousseau in 1999. (Joan and her sisters always called him Bobby.)
For several years, until health issues interfered, we would get together with Joan and her sisters and their husbands at our home at Christmas time. The girls would bring Swedish goodies and talk Bobby into playing “Old Maid”, the card game they used to coax him into playing when they were kids. He loved it! So now all the cousins are together in heaven…maybe playing Old Maid?

    • Thanks Jane for your kind words. Michelle and I cannot thank you enough for putting us in touch with Danielle and Janine. They have been very helpful and generous with getting Joan laid to rest with her parents.

Heaven gained a beautiful Angel !! Joan was a fine example of what beauty is … both on the outside as well as the inside!! Her HEARTwas HUGE..(. I always wondered how all that heart could fit in such a petite lady she was . I was given the absolutely blessing and honor to be a friend of Joan’s! I met Joan 30 plus plus years ago at a law office we worked at together down town Detroit. Although there was a large age difference between us…. it didn’t matter ..we hit off together became great friends and then shared a special bond between us that was truly an amazing blessing. She was like a mother to me at times when I needed it when I needed motherly advice or motherly love, and even scolded me st times too lol lol when I needed it, and then she was the very best friend I ever had. I was to her a daughter she never had and also her friend! The memories I shared with her are endless, the secrets we shared with eachother, the laughter that was always abundant with her and I. We took 2 Cruises together and lived it up and loved both trips with such fun and grand memories We always shared in eac others joyful times and we said eachother tearful times. Joan ALWAYS ALWAYS Had a way of making the most ordinary day special .always going out of her way to do something sweet and thoughtful for someone… just because ! Her sons where the true joy and true love of her life! My hat off to her son Brian Dittmer,, who was by his mothers side looking out for the best for his mom thru the health declining years and even more so this her final year and months and days You took exceptional care, and shown great great love of a son for his dear mother !!! Your mom was so blessed by you. It’s so hard for me to accept she is gone now , but I’m taking claim to Gods promises … that we will she her again …. and that will be a beautiful thing! I till then Sleep well my precious friend..,, I ‘ll catch up with you on the other side …., ????❣️????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

    • Linda, I know how much you meant to my mom and how much she meant to you. You were a true friend and she concerned you family. I’m so glad you got to see her many times, especially in the final weeks. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend, Brian

  4. Brian, Michelle, Mark, Linda and families,
I’m so sorry for your loss. She was so FUN! I was quite young but I have some memories and the Barnes’ have a lot of old home movies and she and Harlan were in them a lot. Remember Bob Barnes always had the movie camera rolling! The kids were playing in the pool and having fun. She was always smiling! Good times shared between our families!
May all of your happy memories with her bring you some peace during this most difficult time. God bless.

    • Thanks Dixie. Yes our families have had some great memories together that I will cherish forever. Let us know when George and Dave are in town, we would love to see you all, Brian.
