Larry Marchall Belt

Larry Marchall Belt, age 75, of Allenton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2023. He was born September 30, 1947, in Roane County, West Virginia. He was the son of Warren and Edith (Jones). He attended New Haven High School where he met and fell in love with his wife, Sharon (Kozub). They married in 1968 and moved to New Baltimore where they raised their family.

Larry is survived by his children – Lynn (Rob) Fisher of Holly, Jim (Cristine) Belt of New Baltimore, and Lori (Stanley) DeDalis of New Baltimore, six beloved grandsons – Christopher Belt, Noah Fisher, Steven DeDalis, Larry DeDalis, Jonathan Fisher, and Jacob Belt, his siblings – Jack (Jackie) Belt, Scott (Maureen) Belt, Fern Belt, and Sally Belt, sisters-in-law – Marie Pelot and Susan Kozub, and many cherished nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his wife, mother, father, brother Ron Belt, and sister Nancy Mastalski.

Larry worked most of his life as a police officer in the communities of New Baltimore, Chesterfield, and Armada. Larry and Sharon moved from New Baltimore to Atlanta, MI in 1998 where they worked at Thunder Bay Golf Resort in Hillman, MI for a number of years. Larry enjoyed playing cards, hunting, golfing, trips to the casino, watching westerns, and hanging out at the local Amvets or Eagles club.

The family is hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 28th from 11a – 4p at the Berville Lions Club located at 13651 Hough Rd., Berlin Twp., (Allenton) 48002.

    My heart is breaking for your family. I knew Larry many years ago when he was a policeman in New Baltimore. I last talked to him after his wife passed. He was a good man and will be missed.
