Paul Scott Gilgallon

Paul Scott Gilgallon “Pookie” age 71, formerly of Oxford, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021. He was a 1967 graduate of Southfield High School, received his BS from Western Michigan University and was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Beta Tua Chapter.

Paul was a joy to be around. He touched so many lives with laughter, kindness and creativity. He taught many lessons and offered a wide range of resources and support. Paul was a very successful man, in his industries, his home, and his friendships. He was the best father a girl could ask for.

Paul designed beautiful pools all over Michigan. Early in his career he helped run his family auto business, Timco. He followed in his mother’s footsteps opening a kite shop in Florida. He eventually started his own company Procraft Custom Builder, built his dream home in Southfield, renovated his home in Oxford and whenever he entered a house he added a beautiful deck. All of his designs left you with a taste of nature, styled with peace and tranquility.

His interests included skiing, boating, camping, biking, flying kites, horseback riding, collecting cars, motorcycles, classical rock, and traveling.

Paul liked to have things in order and would know if something was out of place. He would never give up and make the best of any situation. There was always a sense of humor in Paul’s life. He sure would put everyone to work, and for that we are thankful to have learned from the best.

Paul was an amazing father, in his own unique way. He raised an exceptional daughter and provided her a beautiful life full of passion, knowledge and friendships. He loved his daughter more than anything in this world and always put her first. He adopted four more daughters because, why not, he had enough love to give them.

He was such a great friend to all, even those who didn’t deserve it.

In his own words “Before you leave, I drew you a map.”

Paul is survived by his daughter Chelsea Perez and her husband Benjamin Perez; grandchildren Dylan Perez, Mayzi Perez and Mateo Perez; brother Carl Gilgallon his children (niece) Lisa Price and (nephew) Bruce Gilgallon and their children; brother John Gilgallon, wife Nicol Merlin and children (nephews) Andy Gilgallon and Ian Gilgallon; Paul’s ex wife Olivia Kremser; and his adopted daughters Stephanie Duda, Tori Freel, Jessica Miracle and Calley McDaniel.

The family wants to thank Cardinal Hospice for all their love and care during his final days. A small private celebration of life will be held for Paul and his family.
