Dorothy Mae (Keidel) Griffin

Dorothy Mae (Keidel) Griffin, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2023.
Dorothy was born April 23,1929 in Bismarck, North Dakota. The oldest of three children, she grew up on a farm several miles from the town of Mandan. Dorothy learned patience and forgiveness early in life. After attending Bismarck Junior college she met Melvin (Bing) Griffin. They married and moved to Berkley, Michigan to the home where she resided for over 60 years. She is survived by three children: Bruce Griffin, Brian Griffin (Jean) and Barbara Hagan (Richard). Seven grandchildren: Lisa Griffin, Steven Griffin (Natasha), Tracy Daudelin (Joe), Sheryl Griffin (Jessica), Michelle Griffin, Nicholas Jordan (Kat), Christopher Jordan. Three great grandchildren: Alexa Jordan, Alana Jordan and Archer Griffin. She will be remembered fondly by her three step grandchildren, Betsy Hagan McIntyre (Jeb), Rick Myers-Hagan (Chad), Jeff Hagan (Linda) and their families. Dorothy was a founding member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church (now Cana) and was known for her welcoming nature, calm disposition and easy smile. She was always willing to help anyone. Over the years she spent countless hours watching family play in a variety of sporting events and could be counted on to play any card game. Dorothy is predeceased by parents Carl and Clara Keidel, sister Donna Moxness, brother Keith Keidel, ex-husband Melvin Griffin, daughter-in-law Gay Griffin, ex-son-in-law Mark Jordan. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at Cana Lutheran Church, 2119 Catalpa Dr., Berkley, MI 48072 on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 3:00 PM with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM. Donations in lieu of flowers are appreciated to Choice Hospice 12500 E.13 Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48093.
