Gerard Edward Linkowski

Gerard Edward Linkowski, also known as Gary or Link, passed away on October 22, 2023, at the age of 72 in West Bloomfield, Michigan. He was born on October 10, 1951, in Bay City, Michigan. Gerard was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Gerard was known for his vibrant personality and great storytelling abilities. He had a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten anyone’s day. He had a creative spirit and a passion for photography and videography. Gerard was also an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with his furry friends.

In his career, Gerard dedicated 30 years as a photojournalist at WNEM-TV 5, capturing moments and telling stories through his lens. His work was admired and respected by his colleagues and the community.

Outside of his professional life, Gerard had a variety of interests and hobbies. He was an accomplished bowler, and avid artist with a talent for capturing beautiful scenes on canvas. He also had a passion for music and enjoyed playing the guitar and ukulele. Gerard had an extensive knowledge of old movies and would often spend his free time watching and discussing them.

Gary is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kyle Linkowski. He was a loving father to his children, Matthew (Jaime) Linkowski, Joshua Linkowski, and Emily (Kevin) Kendzel, and a doting grandfather to Evan Linkowski, Maya Linkowski, Eliana Linkowski, and Oliver Kendzel. He had a close bond with his sister, Elizabeth Janowicz and he leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. He cherished the time spent with his family and created many lasting memories together.

Gerard was preceded in death by his father, Edward Linkowski, his mother, Helen Linkowski, his sister, Celine Waldron, and brother-in-law, Dr. Thomas Janowicz, Their memories will forever be treasured by Gerard’s family.

Gerard’s educational journey began at St. Stans Primary School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. He continued his education at All Saints High School and furthered his knowledge at Delta College.

A celebration of Gerard’s life will be determined and announced at a later date. It will be a time for family and friends to come together, share stories, and honor his memory.

Gerard Edward Linkowski will be remembered as a funny, creative, and outgoing individual who touched the lives of many. His legacy will live on through the memories he created and the love he shared with his family. May he rest in peace.
